Work as an RT – Despite having CF

Jeremy Parks has been battling cystic fibrosis since birth, but that hasn’t stopped him from living his dreams, whether that’s meant snow skiing, zip lining, or becoming a respiratory therapist. While he can’t work directly with other CF patients, he uses his personal experience with lung disease to motivate the patients he does see on a daily basis and he credits his own respiratory therapists with doing the same for him. One RT who cared for him during his first hospital admission especially stands out from the crowd. “From the first time we met, he took the time to care,” says Jeremy. “He invested his time into getting to know me and has been there throughout the years to encourage me, motivate me, and give me the ‘kick in the butt’ I sometimes need.”
