Pigs’ lungs are always a big hit in school classrooms and they attracted a huge crowd at the Health Occupations Students of America Conference as well, where RT students from California College put on a demonstration showing the inflation and deflation of the lungs using a transport ventilator. High school students in attendance recorded the demo on a cell phone and put it up on Instagram, and the next day even more kids came by the AARC booth to see the lungs work in real time. Before the RT students knew what was happening, the event cameraman showed up as well to film the demo for placement on the event website. Who knew a simple set of pigs lungs could be so popular!
